Overview
IMPORTANT! Please make sure you perform a manual backup prior to any upgrades. Go to Tools > Utilities > Backup Database. For more information on backing up, please see the Backing Up article of the User Guide.
Note: If you are upgrading to LightSpeed 3.6, please refer to the special article posted HERE.
Your installation is comprised of LightSpeed Server, where your data resides, and LightSpeed, the application that accesses that data. LightSpeed Server resides on one computer (the server), and is accessed by LightSpeed (the application) from other computers on the network.
Upgrading your version of LightSpeed 3.x is a process that involves the installation of LightSpeed Server as well as the replacement of the LightSpeed application on each computer that logs in. LightSpeed Server can be accessed at Apple Menu > System Preferences > LightSpeed Server. If you have more than one Mac with a LightSpeed Server preference pane, make sure you choose the one with a serial number that matches the one issued to you by Xsilva. LightSpeed the application must be upgraded on all Macs that connect to LightSpeed Server, including the server computer itself.
For information on logging in, please see the Networking and Logging In article.
