LightSpeed Boot Camp will be in Montreal this September

stars

LightSpeed is thrilled to present our first ever LightSpeed Boot Camp in Montreal from September 27-29
at the beautiful St. Paul Hotel. LightSpeed is at the forefront of a revolution now happening in retail, and
this camp will equip resellers to help stores reinvent their retail experience for the iGeneration!

What is Boot Camp, anyway?

Boot Camp is 3 days of intensive, hands-on training on LightSpeed for Mac, LightSpeed for iPad, LightSpeed Mobile, eCommerce, and Multi-Store, covering everything from setup to best practices, troubleshooting, and more! Attendees will get to experience the software from every perspective of a retail store - as a sales person, a manager, an administrator, a purchaser - in addition to receiving valuable sales training to help jumpstart your success as a Certified LightSpeed Reseller.

Who is it for?

New resellers or resellers with applications in process. Boot Camp will teach you LightSpeed setup, optimization, and sales techniques from the ground up... all without a single push-up.

Resellers who have never experienced a LightSpeed Certification Camp, or perhaps attended an older camp and need to brush up on their knowledge to maintain their competitive edge.

Resellers who want to increase the number of their staff who are officially trained and certified, strengthening their ability to offer the complete family of LightSpeed solutions to their customers.

What is Certification all about?

Attendance at Boot Camp makes LightSpeed resellers eligible to begin (or continue) their certification path, advancing levels that distinguish their listing on our reseller page. Customers are increasingly interested in finding a reseller who has proven their knowledge and dedication through certification, regardless of geography. Certifications are attached to individuals, and a company with multiple certified staff fortifies their ability to offer LightSpeed solutions to customers.

  • Certification is awarded to resellers who attend the camp and complete an exam, and continues through four levels. Eligibility to write exams is tied to the number of customer installs a reseller has completed from sales to implementation. Certifications are tied to individuals, and a reseller's collective certifications are displayed in the Reseller listings. All attendees are required to bring a Mac laptop that is able to run the LightSpeed demo, which they will use for the interactive sessions.

    • The LightSpeed 3 badge is awarded to LightSpeed resellers who have completed extensive training on LightSpeed's newest version, including Point of Sale and Multi-Store.
    • The Web Store Integration badge is awarded to LightSpeed Pro and Expert-level resellers who have completed extensive training in the configuration and integration of the LightSpeed Web Store.
    • The QuickBooks Integration badge is awarded to LightSpeed Pro and Expert-level resellers who have completed extensive training in LightSpeed's accounting export and import workflow for Intuit's QuickBooks 2011 for Mac.
    • The Training badge is awarded to Pro and Expert level resellers who have completed rigorous qualification and have demonstrated a strong ability to teach LightSpeed workflows to retailers.
    • The Financing badge is awarded to resellers who create custom financing packages for retailers so the full LightSpeed solution can be acquired without paying the complete price all at once.

    • An Expert reseller has attended at least two LightSpeed Certification Camps, implemented at least 20 customer installs, and passed all Certification exams.
    • A Pro reseller has attended at least one LightSpeed Certification Camp, implemented at least 7 customer installs, and passed the Advanced and Pro exams.
    • An Advanced reseller has attended a LightSpeed Certification Camp, implemented at least 4 customer installs and passed the Advanced exam.
    • A Certified reseller has attended a LightSpeed Certification Camp and passed the Certification exam.

Why should I go?

The most successful LightSpeed resellers are invariably those who attend a training camp, who prioritize product knowledge for themselves and members of their staff, and who plug into the energy that the event provides to focus and inspire them as they reach out to retailers in their markets.

LightSpeed's lead distribution is a very important part of a reseller's success, and certification is a key factor in deciding how incoming leads are paired with resellers in the area. We go the extra mile for resellers who are serious about their success selling LightSpeed solutions.

Okay, I need one more good reason.

How about three? Networking is another essential aspect of the camp, and you will undoubtedly find others eager to share their tips and techniques for both selling and implementing LightSpeed.

You'll get to meet the LightSpeed team — the sales and support teams who are here to help you offer the best LightSpeed solutions to your retail customers.

And the social events - the cocktail party, the dinner — are a terrific way to let your hair down with your fellow recruits and instructors at the end of a full day of sessions.

Where's it at?

Montreal's vieux quartier, like many European cities, provides a distinctive challenge to forward-looking hotels: how to create a modern, chic hotel in a classical context. The Hotel St. Paul is a muscular Beaux-Arts shell; past the antique doors, however, the interior is ethereal, airy, and light. Embodying an elemental theme, the hotel alternates between this airy reverie and an earthier, more textured approach, whether in public spaces or in guestrooms. The lobby of Hotel St. Paul adds a fire-lit ice sculpture and the restaurant Hambar is one of Montreal's trendiest spots. The 120 guestrooms go a more intimate route, with ambient light, pony-skin chairs and modernist furniture, as well as LCD flat-screen televisions and high speed internet.

Hotel St. Paul is located in Old Montreal, between St. Paul Street and Place d'Youville, within walking distance to the WTCM, the Convention Center and just steps from downtown shops.

We have block-booked rooms at The St. Paul Hotel. Be sure to register for Boot Camp now, in order to take advantage of a special time-limited room rate of $185 per night.
